If you looked across the entire country, it would be hard to find someone who has been bit by the injury bug as many times as Texas wide receiver Jordan Whittington.
Whittington has yet to get through a full season healthy during his time in Austin. The former five-star missed the entire 2019 season due to a groin injury just a few snaps into his collegiate career. In 2020 Whittington played sparingly while dealing with a hamstring injury much of the year.
This season looked like it was finally time for Whittington’s breakout season. Through four games he led the team in receiving. Texas was 4-1 before bad luck hit Whittington yet again when he broke his clavicle against Oklahoma.
The loss of Whittington was a huge blow for the Texas offense, the Horns went 0-4 in the time he missed for injury.
Whittington finished the 2021 season with 377 receiving yards and three touchdowns despite missing four games to injury.
On a live stream with Orangebloods reporter Serenity Douglas, Whittington announced the 2022 season will be his last season playing college football.
A healthy Whittington and Xavier Worthy could make one of the better receiving duos in the country next season.
