The New York Giants (4-7) will visit the Miami Dolphins (5-7) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday afternoon.
Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 2.5-point road underdogs but that spread has ballooned a bit to +4.5 as of this writing.
Let’s take a look at who some of the experts and insiders around the league are taking in the Week 13 matchup:
Expert | Pick | Score (if applicable) |
Laura Rutledge (ESPN) | Dolphins | N/A |
Matt Bowen (ESPN) | Dolphins | N/A |
Emmanuel Acho (ESPN) | Dolphins | N/A |
Pete Prisco (CBS) | Dolphins | 23-17 |
John Breech (CBS) | Dolphins | 30-20 |
Ryan Wilson (CBS) | Dolphins | N/A |
Nate Davis (USA TODAY) | Dolphins | 23-17 |
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) | Dolphins | 27-20 |
Bill Bender (Sporting News) | Dolphins | 23-17 |
Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News) | Dolphins | 20-16 |
The fact that these predictions are so one-sided has to come as a surprise. The Giants certainly do not instill much confidence, but the level of certainty that Miami comes away victorious is unexpected.
For the most part, those who did predict a score view this as a one-touchdown contest. Only John Breech of CBS Sports has the Dolphins winning by more than seven. In fact, he has Miami scoring 30 points — 10.5 points above their season average and seven points more than the Giants’ defense gives up on average.
Perhaps the injury to quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) swayed folks, but a clean sweep for the Dolphins? That came out of left field.
