Looking at potential assistants to join the new LSU staff under Brian Kelly, we look to a familiar face, Terry Joseph.
Joseph is the cousin of current wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph and a former assistant under Brian Kelly. He knows Louisiana as a native of New Orleans. Bringing him back to the Bayou makes plenty of sense. He currently serves as the defensive passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach of the Texas Longhorns. He joined Steve Sarkisian’s staff prior to the 2021 season.
Joseph is credited with the signing of Notre Dame All-American safety Kyle Hamilton and helped develop him into the top safety prospect that he is today. He was also a member of the LSU Tigers staff as a graduate assistant. He knows the school, the tradition and recruiting in the area. It would make sense especially if Texas has its eyes set on adding former TCU head coach Gary Patterson to its staff.
The idea of adding Joseph could be big if Corey Raymond isn’t retained at LSU. It was previously reported he and Kevin Faulk would stay on the new staff, but Brian Kelly refuted the story in his opening press conference on Wednesday.
