Arch Manning (the grandson of Archie, son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli) was knocked out of the LHSAA Division III playoffs in the semifinal round last Friday, ending his junior season.
Arch plays quarterback for Newman in Louisiana, the same school where his dad and uncles played. Arch’s season came to a disappointing end last weekend, but he’s still one of the biggest high school football recruits in the country.
Arch totaled more than 2,000 passing yards and threw 26 touchdown passes with four interceptions in 10 games in 2021. He also rushed for 365 yards and scored eight times on the ground.
He has now totaled more than 6,000 passing yards and 81 passing touchdowns against 18 interceptions in three high school seasons (30 games). Arch has also rushed for more than 700 yards and 20 more scores. That’s 101 total touchdowns through three seasons.
Arch has received offers from 12 college football programs and that numbers will undoubtedly grow in the coming months. Among the schools competing to woo Arch are Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Texas and Ole Miss.
Arch will attempt to lead Newman to a state title in his final season next fall after reaching the semifinal in each of the last three years.
