The game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons made headlines after LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart got into a major scuffle.
In the third quarter, LeBron and Stewart fought for positioning during a free-throw attempt when James hit his left below on Stewart’s face.
Whether it was intentional, Stewart eventually had blood all over his face, which made him rush LeBron several times. Multiple players and personnel from both sides tried to restrain Stewart, which took a while because Stewart was clearly upset.
Referees called a flagrant two foul on LeBron that led to his ejection, and Stewart was also ejected. Russell Westbrook received a technical foul, but he didn’t know about it until his postgame media session.
After the game, LeBron tried to reach out to Stewart and apologize for what happened, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic on an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show:
It was ABSOLUTE CHAOS in Detroit last night Shams.
