The Detroit Lions offense has been a calamitous struggle over the last few weeks. It’s been very, very bad.
(Crowd shouts): How bad is it?
It’s so bad that a former Lions defensive back has the same number of touchdowns as the Detroit offense since the start of Week 8. Darius Slay, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, matched the Lions three TDs in the last four weeks with a pick-six against the New Orleans Saints.
That was Slay’s third touchdown on defense since Week 8. He scored on a fumble return against his old team in that 44-6 Eagles romp over Detroit, then added another scoop-and-score in Philadelphia’s win over Denver in Week 10.

The Lions traded Slay to the Eagles before the 2020 NFL draft in exchange for draft picks that became WR Quintez Cephus, who is currently on the Lions’ injured reserve, starting LG Jonah Jackson and backup NT John Penisini.
