That one hurt. I never thought it would be an easy game for Michigan State football in the ‘Shoe against Ohio State, but to lose in this way, with the turnovers, the lack of Kenneth Walker III, and the constant stream of big plays for the Buckeyes, well, that was tough. Final score was 56-7.
After giving up an early lead, the Spartans completely abandoned the run in this one and Ohio State was able to completely dismantle Payton Thorne and the MSU passing attack. Inexplicably, a Jordon Simmons fumble (not sure why Kenneth Walker wasn’t the back on this play) early in the game cemented this loss early and the Buckeyes never looked back.
Tough loss for the Spartans that will eliminate them from playoff and Big Ten title contention, but it must still be said that this has been an incredibly awesome season for MSU despite this loss.
