Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is well aware of how crucial the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes will be in terms getting the program turned around in the right direction.
While the 2022 group is closing in on a top 10 class in the country with several priority targets still on the board, the Longhorns only have one commit in the 2023 class up to this point in four-star defensive back Jamel Johnson.
The updated Top247 rankings by 247Sports were released this week, and numerous Texas targets showed some movement in the rankings. To no surprise, five-star quarterback Arch Manning continues to be the top target on Sarkisian’s board, and he’s now officially the No. 1 prospect in the country.
