ANN ARBOR, Mich. — For a minute, it looked like Michigan basketball was going to run Seton Hall off the court. But it didn’t last long.

Just as the Wolverines extended an 11-point second-half lead, the mistakes started mounting and the Pirates started hitting timely 3-point shots. Before long, it was a tie game with under five minutes left to go.

Michigan pulled away again, but Seton Hall stormed right back, thanks to some questionable officiating mixed with Wolverines turnovers. Ultimately, the maize and blue lost, 67-65, the first of the season.

After the game, head coach Juwan Howard noted how it’s a learning experience and that the team made far too many mistakes, essentially beating themselves more than Seton Hall beat his team. Here’s everything he had to say after the game.
