Packers lose out on WR Odell Beckham Jr., who signs with Rams

The Packers were a finalist, but Odell Beckham Jr. picked Hollywood over Titletown.

The Green Bay Packers’ pursuit of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is over.

According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Beckham Jr. and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN also reported the finalizing of the deal.

The Packers were one of the finalists alongside the Rams to sign Beckham Jr., according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, but the former Cleveland Browns receiver picked Hollywood over Titletown.

Beckham was released by the Browns on Monday and cleared waivers on Tuesday, making him a free agent. The Packers reportedly offered a veteran minimum deal.

Over six games in Cleveland this season, Beckham caught 17 passes for 232 yards and zero touchdowns.

In Los Angeles, Beckham Jr. joins a cast of star players, including Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Von Miller, Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp. The Rams figure to be one of the top roadblocks standing in Green Bay’s path to a Super Bowl.

Keep in mind, the drama will heighten again soon: the Packers host Beckham Jr. and the Rams on Nov. 28 at Lambeau Field in what could be a huge game in determining the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
