The Buffalo Bills did not make any moves ahead of the 2021 NFL trade deadline.
However, the team did make two minor transactions on the day of the deadline relating to the practice squad.
The Bills (5-2) announced on Tuesday that quarterback Jake Fromm and wide receiver Tanner Gentry, both practice squad players, landed on the taxi squad’s COVID-19 list.
To replace them, Buffalo signed offensive lineman Jacob Capra and wide receiver Austin Proehl to the practice squad.
Proehl was a former seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2018 who was cut at the end of that year’s training camp.
Capra previously had a workout with the Bills during their bye week.
Regarding Fromm and Gentry, it is unclear at this time if the two were placed on the COVID designation because of a close contact safety protocol or because they tested positive for the virus.
When Bills head coach Sean McDermott next speaks to the media via press conference on Wednesday, he will likely provide further details.
