Chris Holtmann, players, react to scrimmage win against Indianapolis

Hear from Chris Holtmann and some of the players after the Buckeyes’ scrimmage against Indianapolis Monday night. #GoBucks

In case you lost track, the Ohio State men’s basketball team hit the court for the first time in the Schott in front of fans. It was only a scrimmage, but it was the first time we got to get a peek at what this year’s OSU squad might look like.

There were some new faces like freshmen Malaki Branham and Kalin Etzler, but we also got to look at transfers like Jamari Wheeler, Joey Brunk, and Cedric Russell. And yeah, at the end of the day, it was quite the dominating performance with the Buckeyes winning in blowout fashion 82-46, but of course, it was a scrimmage against a Division II Indianapolis squad.

Head coach Chris Holtmann and the players were made available to the media after the game and touched on what they saw and felt during the contest. In case you didn’t catch any of those comments, we’ve got them for you thanks to the folks at Ohio State.

Watch the below video and listen to the players and Holtmann talk about their play, the new faces, the three-point shooting, injuries to key players, and more.

Now that the official scrimmage is out of the way, Ohio State will prepare to break the seal officially on the season when it hosts Akron next Tuesday, November 9. Let the lead up to the madness begin.
