49ers inactives: Trent Williams will play vs. Bears

The #49ers will have their starting left tackle against Chicago. Trent Williams was NOT among the team’s inactives.

The 49ers’ list of inactives for Week 8 came with some good news and no huge surprises. Left tackle Trent Williams was questionable with an ankle injury, he will suit up Sunday in Chicago after missing Week 7. Defensive end Samson Ebukam also showed up on the injury report midweek with an ankle issue.

Williams didn’t practice the first two days this week and was limited in Friday’s session which raised some optimism that he’d play, but the lack of practice time left some question about his availability.

Ebukam was a full participant Wednesday, popped up as limited Thursday and didn’t practice Friday. Getting him active is a big deal for the 49ers with Dee Ford out because of a concussion. Expect plenty of snaps for Ebukam on Sunday.

Here is who won’t suit up for the 49ers at Soldier Field:

DE Dee Ford (concussion)
LB Azeez Al-Shaair (concussion)
DL Maurice Hurst (calf)
CB Demmodore Lenoir (personal)
CB Ambry Thomas
OL Aaron Banks
WR Travis Benjamin

Lenoir was ruled out Saturday. He’s dealing with personal issues and won’t make the trip to Chicago.

Second and third-round rookies Banks and Thomas still getting healthy scratches is not a good sign long-term. Banks was active against the Colts in Week 7 but couldn’t make it back-to-back weeks.
