The New York Giants (2-5) will visit the Kansas City Chiefs (3-4) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri on Monday night.
Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 9.5-point road underdogs and that’s where the line remains as of this writing.
Let’s take a look at who some of the experts and insiders around the league are taking in the Week 8 matchup:
Expert | Pick | Score (if applicable) |
Laura Rutledge (ESPN) | Chiefs | N/A |
Matt Bowen (ESPN) | Chiefs | N/A |
Emmanuel Acho (ESPN) | Chiefs | N/A |
Pete Prisco (CBS) | Chiefs | 33-16 |
Jared Dubin (CBS) | Chiefs | N/A |
Ryan Wilson (CBS) | Chiefs | N/A |
Nate Davis (USA TODAY) | Chiefs | 31-23 |
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) | Chiefs | 26-20 |
Bill Bender (Sporting News) | Chiefs | 34-23 |
Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News) | Chiefs | 38-13 |
It’s no real surprise that the Chiefs have been picked across the board (precious few outside of our above panel are giving the Giants a chance, either). But what does come as a surprise is that most believe Kansas City’s terrible defense is somehow going to hold the Giants offense down.
Yes, the Giants have been inconsistent under Jason Garrett and many star players are injured, but they put up 23 against Carolina’s top 10 defense a week ago. They also seem to have figured out a way to scheme in “protection” for Daniel Jones.
The Chiefs may very well put up 33-plus points on Monday night, but don’t be surprised if the Giants also approach that 30-point mark.
