Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones will remain on the COVID list through the weekend. He will not play in their Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans.
The Cardinals announced several roster moves, including three players elevated from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements. Jones is one of the team’s three players on the COVID list.
Jones was back in the building and working out Friday, but defensive coordinator Vance Joseph indicated that they want to make sure his conditioning is where it needs to be in order to play.
The Cardinals elevated four players from the practice squad.
Defensive lineman Josh Mauro, recently signed to the practice squad, was elevated as a standard elevation. He will get to play in the defensive rotation with both Corey Peterson and Zach Allen out still.
They also elevated offensive lineman Danny Isidora, tight end Ross Travis and linebacker Joe Walker as COVID-19 elevations.
The Cardinals needed another offensive lineman on the roster. They only have seven on the roster and need eight on game days. Travis will get playing time with Darrell Daniels out as the third tight end behind Zach Ertz and Demetrius Harris.
Walker played last week on special teams and had two snaps on defense.
It is still unknown whether head coach Kliff Kingsbury will come out of COVID protocols to coach on Sunday.
