Giants’ Joe Judge makes a promise to fans: Things will get better

Fear not, New York Giants fans… Head coach Joe Judge, who is 7-15 to start his career, promises things will get better soon.

The New York Giants are 1-5 to start the 2021 regular-season and 7-15 since Joe Judge took over as head coach, but fear not! Santa Judge is here two months early with the promise of gifts for long-suffering Big Blue fans.

“This is definitely going to get better,” Judge told reporters on Monday. “I don’t know what kind of guarantee [the fans] want, but I can assure everyone out there that’s a Giants fan and they want to know when it’s going to turn. I can tell them right now we’re working tirelessly to make sure we get this thing turned around in the right direction, not just for short-term results, but for long-term success.”

There you have it, Giants fans. No need to stress, fret or worry. Joe Judge is on the case and the turnaround is coming. He promises.

Of course, that sort of guarantee falls on deaf ears these days. It was the same promise Dave Gettleman made when he took over as general manager and we all know how that panned out. Ditto Ben McAdoo and Pat Shurmur, who also made such promises as they began their head coaching stints.

The common denominator? It hasn’t gotten better. In fact, it’s only gotten progressively worse.

“My feelings have always been the same — I’m not going to be doing any hot button-type of things like what you’re saying — but in terms of the fans, I love the passion of our fans. I say it all the time, it’s New York. What did you expect? It’s supposed to be tough, you know? You have to work hard for their respect and when you earn it, it’s that much more valuable,” Judge added.

Giants fans wish Judge & Co. would earn their respect. They don’t want to boo but have given no other course of action. And frankly, they’re tired of hearing all the promises — it’s time for someone to step up and actually deliver.
