Sixers to be without guard Matisse Thybulle due to shoulder soreness

The Philadelphia 76ers will be without Matisse Thybulle on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors.

The Philadelphia 76ers will continue with their preseason schedule on Thursday when they return home to host the Toronto Raptors. This is a rematch with Toronto after the two teams met up in Canada on Monday, a Raptors win.

As the Sixers return home, they will be missing a key member of their team in the form of Matisse Thybulle. The defensive stud will miss the game due to right shoulder soreness and he will begin his own personalized rehab. He will then be re-evaluated in one week.

Thybulle’s absence does open the door for second-year guard Isaiah Joe to see the floor more which is what coach Doc Rivers wanted to do all along.

“I’m sure Isaiah is not happy that Matisse is not playing, but he’s happy that he knows he’s gonna get good minutes,” Rivers said pregame. “We wanted to get a look at him anyway. We were going to sit one of the guards, regardless, today. Matisse just forced our hands. I think this was the day I had scheduled for Danny (Green) so Danny just has to play now.”

The Sixers and the Raptors will have their rematch at 7 p.m. EDT from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
