The kickoff time for the Red River Rivalry this year should come as no surprise.
The official announcement was released by the Big 12 on Monday and it will be another 11 a.m. CDT start time on Oct. 9. The rivalry matchup will be broadcast on ABC.
Texas has a legitimate chance to knock off Oklahoma this year, as the Sooners have looked extremely vulnerable through the first four weeks of the season. However, after narrowly avoiding a few upsets, Oklahoma still sits with a 4-0 record.
The Longhorns are hoping to find some consistency in their play. Steve Sarkisian’s team suffered a humble loss to Arkansas in Week 2, but have blown out each of their opponents the last two weeks.
Regardless of how talented one team may be, anything can happen in rivalry games.
This will mark the 94th time that Texas and Oklahoma have faced off at a neutral site in Dallas. Since the first meeting in 1900, the Longhorns lead the overall series 62-49-5.
