On Saturday, Michigan State football found out that they were losing defensive end Alex Okelo to the NCAA transfer portal. On Sunday, it was reported by Rainer Sabin of the Detroit Free Press that two more Spartans will be joining him as cornerback Kalon Gervin and linebacker Chase Kline both entered the portal.

Unlike Okelo, Gervin and Kline are upperclassmen, and both players were receiving less playing time than they might have liked. By transferring now, the two players will save a year of eligibility and find a new place where they can get playing time. Since they weren’t really playing anyway, this is a neutral move for MSU and nothing to be concerned about.
