WATCH: Max Johnson avoids the rush and finds Kayshon Boutte for the touchdown

LSU strikes quickly with the touchdown pass from Max Johnson to Kayshon Boutte.

The LSU Tigers looked to strike first despite going on defense first to kick off the game. The defense was able to force a turnover when Cordale Flott popped the ball loose for Damone Clark to scoop it up and get into Mississippi State territory. The Tigers looking to start quickly in this matchup on the road.

On the ninth play of the drive facing a third and nine from the Bulldogs 11-yard line, Mississippi State sent the house on a blitz. Max Johnson was able to make the free rusher miss and found a sliding Kayshon Boutte for his FBS-leading seventh touchdown of the season. On his first drive, Johnson was four of five for 35 yards and a touchdown.

The Tigers got the quick start they were looking for. They need to keep applying pressure as the game continues in Starkville, Mississippi.
