AS CALLED ON VIKINGS RADIO: pic.twitter.com/11794IWphj

Vikings fans had their Sunday ruined when kicker Greg Joseph missed a 37-yard field goal that would have won them the game as time expired.
No one summed it up more interestingly than KFAN’s Paul Allen. Allen said the field goal was good at first, as the kick hooked away from the uprights. Then, the feeling of despair set in — Joseph, like so many Vikings kickers before him, missed a crucial field goal.
In fairness to Allen, the kick did appear to be going in when it first left Joseph’s foot. In a way, the call on the radio was perfect: the “come on” right after the ball is kicked, the denial of the loss, then the slow acceptance of another Vikings kicker missing a field goal. If that’s not what it’s like to be a Minnesota fan, I don’t know what is.
Now, the Vikings are 0-2, after losing one game in overtime and another as time expired in regulation. The Vikings need a lot more things to go their way at the end of games, so fans can hear Allen call game-winning plays without having to walk them back.
