The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a Week 1 comeback win against one of the top-tier teams in the AFC conference. The Baltimore Ravens are coming off a disappointing overtime loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. As the two teams get set to face off on one of the NFL’s biggest primetime stages in “Sunday Night Football” the betting public seems to favor Kansas City.
Oddsmakers certainly aren’t predicting the Chiefs will run away with this one, though. In fact, they seem to believe it’ll be a fairly close game at least by betting standards. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Chiefs’ 3.5-point favorites over the Ravens with an over/under point total of 55.5. That’d put the final score somewhere around Chiefs 30, Ravens 26. That makes for another close game for both teams.
Baltimore is currently up against the ropes with some serious injuries through the preseason and the early goings of the season. A season-ending injury to Marcus Peters and other less serious injuries to Chris Westry, Marlon Humphrey and Jimmy Smith have the Ravens exceptionally thin in the secondary. That’s an area that you want to be a strength when you face the trio of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.
It’s easy to see why the oddsmakers are expecting some offensive fireworks for Kansas City. And after the Chiefs’ defense laid an egg against the Browns early on in Week 1, especially in the running game, it’s quite easy to see why they expect the Ravens won’t be going down so easily.
