John Harbaugh announced that Ravens TE Nick Boyle will go on short term injured reserve

The Baltimore Ravens have had injuries quickly become a key storyline of their 2021 season before the games that count even begin. They’ve lost a number of key contributors to season-ending ailments, and a few other players are on short-term injured reserve as they continue to rehab and get healthy.

One of the players recovering from an injury is veteran tight end Nick Boyle. On Friday, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh announced that Boyle will be placed on short term injured reserve, which will automatically hold him out of games for at least the first three weeks of the 2021 season.

Boyle is still fully getting back from a serious knee injury that he suffered midway through the 2020 season. There was a small bit of optimism that he could return prior to the three week period that short term injured reserve gives players. He will now have the opportunity to fully recover, instead of potentially playing with the injury not fully healed.
