The Oklahoma City Thunder inked 21-year-old Czech guard Vit Krejci to a multi-year contract, the team announced on Friday.
The 6-foot-8 guard was selected with the No. 37 pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Oklahoma City acquired his rights from the Washington Wizards in a draft-day deal.
Krejci averaged 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 9.2 minutes over his 37 with Casademont Zaragoza in the Spanish ACB, Basketball Champions League and Spanish Cup in 2019-20.
He missed last season due to an ACL injury he suffered in September.
There is some familiarity with the team. Krecji arrived in Oklahoma City in January to rehab with the staff. With his size, the Thunder see potential versatility that fits the mold of other large ball handlers on the team.
The contract is a four-year minimum deal with only the first season fully guaranteed, according to The Athletic’s Andrew Schlecht. The second year has about $800,000 guaranteed while the final two seasons have team options.
