If you play quarterback at Oklahoma for head coach Lincoln Riley, chances are you’re gonna put up some huge numbers and get picked early in the NFL draft.
Riley put his passers in the No. 1 overall spot in back-to-back years with Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, and Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts was a second-round pick after just one season with the Sooners. Murray is already a superstar, Mayfield took the Cleveland Browns deep into the playoffs last season, and Hurts won the starting job as a rookie.
Riley’s latest pupil, Spencer Rattler, has a chance to be the next Sooners quarterback to make a successful jump to the next level, and he recently spoke with Joel Klatt at Fox Sports about how Riley sets his quarterbacks up for success:
"He definitely makes it easy at the QB position going through your reads and seeing coverages. He teaches us a lot of great things."@SpencerRattler tells @joelklatt how @LincolnRiley sets him up for success and reveals what @OU_Football wants to accomplish in 2021 ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/yXkQY7bjDb

If he continues his current trajectory, Rattler should be a Heisman Trophy front-runner this season, and could end up being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.
