The Indianapolis Colts claimed tight end Kahale Warring off of waivers from the New England Patriots, the team announced Saturday.
The Colts have been trying to get Warring on the roster. They reportedly put a claim in on him last week when the Patriots initially grabbed him from the waiver wire.
An athletic tight end, Warring was a third-round pick with the Houston Texans in the 2019 NFL draft. He missed his rookie season due to injury, spending the entirety of it on the injured reserve list.
Warring appeared in seven games during the 2020 season. He recorded three receptions for 35 yards.
The San Diego State product will join a tight end room that includes Jack Doyle, Mo Alie-Cox and 2021 fourth-round pick Kylen Granson.
