Former Alabama star quarterback Tua Tagovavailoa is nearly a household name in the football community. However, when he first got to Alabama, not too many people, including Crimson Tide fans, knew how to pronounce his last name.
To this day, fans and analysts still have a difficult time with some of the syllables. While they aren’t completely off, it’s still not totally correct.
A fan of Tagovailoa’s was so upset by the constant mispronunciation that they sent a letter to analysts Adam Schefter and Field Yates.
The letter, which contains some explicit language, includes a pronunciation guide for the Dolphins quarterback’s last name and some advice and commentary for the various ESPN on-air personalities.
