As the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the New York Giants, the two teams are at different places in their development. As seen in joint practices this week, the host outclassed the visitor quite easily in drills and team matchups.
For the Browns, preseason and training camp has been all about staying healthy and preparing for Week 1 of a long season and, as planned, the postseason. For the Giants, figuring out if Daniel Jones will be their franchise quarterback of the future, getting Saquon Barkley healthy and creating an identity under Joe Judge has been the focus.
With their goals in mind, Cleveland did not play many of their expected starters in the first preseason game and are expected to do the same against New York. The Giants will, reportedly, follow suit:
The #Giants will not play QB Daniel Jones or most of their starters, including the offensive line, in their preseason game Sunday vs. Cleveland. This after they got in a good week of work during joint practices with the #Browns.

With few starters expected to play, fans will get a chance to focus on the young guys and players on the roster bubble through Sunday’s game.
