Former Texas running back D’Onta Foreman has found a new home.
The Atlanta Falcons announced on Monday that they’ve signed Foreman after a recent visit and workout last week. It’s unclear the length of the deal, but it’s expected to be a one-year contract.
Foreman was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. Injuries quickly began to derail his professional career when he tore his Achilles as a rookie. He opened the 2018 season on the PUP list and never quite returned to form, which caused him to be waived by Houston in 2019.
The Indianapolis Colts claimed Foreman soon after, but he again ended up on injured reserve with a bicep injury. He was later waived by the Colts and was a free agent until the Tennessee Titans took a chance on him in 2020 where he appeared in six games and rushed for 95 yards.
The former Longhorn will hope to remain healthy and compete for playing time behind Mike Davis in Atlanta.

Foreman exploded onto the scene during his junior season at Texas, where he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns. His stellar 2016 campaign earned the Doak Walker Award for college football’s top running back.
