New England Patriots RB Damien Harris had a promising second season in the NFL. He led the Patriots in rushing yards but missed six games due to injury. Below, we look at Damien Harris’ 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.
Harris is projected to lead the Patriots backfield in 2021, but he’ll share work James White and Sony Michel. The threat of QB Cam Newton cutting into the running work, especially near the goal line, also needs to be considered.

Harris is not a hot commodity in fantasy entering 2021. He is just behind Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark and Indianapolis Colts rookie QB Sam Ehlinger.
He has been selected as high as 20th overall and as low as 159th. He has been chosen in just over 50% of leagues.
Harris is being chosen as the 45th running back, just ahead of Denver Broncos RB Melvin Gordon.

Where should you take Damien Harris in your fantasy football draft?
Harris is a tough read. He will share a role with a healthy Michel, but even when he was starting, he had almost zero role in the passing game. He isn’t worth much in PPR leagues.
In 10 games, he topped 15 touches just four times. Could he be a red-zone threat? Perhaps, but if Newton is New England’s starter, he will take some of the potential touchdowns in the red zone.
Harris had three 100-yards games in 2020, which is good, but the uncertainty of his touches keeps him out of RB1 contention. At best, he is an RB2.
You shouldn’t consider Harris until at least the middle rounds of your draft after you have already filled your main lineup. He is a good bye-week or injury option, but don’t hurry to draft him.
