Valparaiso has hired Max James as its running backs coach.
James served as an offensive graduate assistant at Tennessee during the 2019 and 2020 seasons under head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Before arriving at Tennessee, James served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati Christian University. James also served as a junior varsity coach at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Valparaiso competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision.
Landon Fox serves as head coach for Valparaiso.
Valparaiso kicks off the 2021 season on Sept. 4 at Indiana Wesleyan. Valparaiso finished the 2021 spring season 4-2 with wins against Drake, San Diego and Butler twice.
