Denton Ryan has been home to some dominant defensive players over the past few years.
Five-star Ja’Tavion Sanders and four-star Billy Bowman (both 2021 class) ended up at Texas and Oklahoma respectively. Bear Alexander (2022 class) played for the Raiders last season before moving to Fort Worth Brewster for his senior season.
Next up is linebacker Anthony Hill. The five-star prospect was one of the most dominant players in 5A last season despite just being a sophomore. He finished with 105 tackles, 11 of which were for a loss, and three sacks.
Hill’s 6-foot-2, 225-pound frame at such a young age could even see him develop into an edge rusher in college. As to which program will have the opportunity to use his talents is yet to be seen.
Thirty offers have been sent out to the five-star but the list is quickly shrinking. On Wednesday, Hill announced where he would be making unofficial visits this summer.
The #1 Edge in the Class of 2023, Anthony Hill Jr. , tells me that he will take the following visits this summer:

Texas- June 12
Texas A&M- June 17

Gary Patterson and TCU hosted the five-star on June 6, while Pete Kwiatkowski will get his shot on June 12. Hill is in a group of elite-level juniors in Austin this weekend, headlined by him, Arch Manning, and Rueben Owens. Hill will travel to in-state rivals Texas A&M five days later.
Of course, Alabama is the only out-of-state school to get a visit so far. Nick Saban was able to lock down another five-star linebacker from Denton Ryan in Drew Sanders. The Crimson Tide is not afraid of stealing top talent from Texas.
With how many juniors are expected on campus on Friday, Hill could prove to be one of the most important. Whether the five-star ends up on the edge or sticking with inside linebacker, there will be a need for Kwiatkowski come the 2023 season.
