With offenses becoming more and more pass-oriented, edge rushers are essential to the success of a team’s defense. Oklahoma is in the hunt for one of the best pass rushers in the state, Derrick Brown. He would be a snag in the 2022 recruiting class.
On Wednesday morning, Brown released his top eight schools featuring OU, Texas, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State, Ole Miss, TCU and Texas Tech.
The four-star edge collapses pockets and possesses the burst and aggression that Alex Grinch covets. Oklahoma will host Brown on the weekend of their Nebraska matchup. He previously visited Texas, with Texas Tech and Baylor next on the list this summer. Winning the recruiting battle for Brown would be big for the Sooners. He would be a lethal weapon in Grinch’s D-Line.
