Whew, man. If it wasn’t clear before it’s pretty clear now: The NBA really wants the kids to watch their games.
And, of course, they do — they’re trying to maintain their current audience while also building a loyal one for the future. But how they’re going about doing it is so wild and, uh, also sort of fun?
We saw the Marvel Broadcast they did a few weeks ago on ESPN. They concocted this absolutely ridiculous storyline that involved some of the Avengers recruiting Pelicans and Warriors players based on how they performed in the game — Draymond Green was the Avengers’ champion.
Now, they’re moving on to Fortnite for an event called The Crossover.
