The Houston Texans will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars to open the 2021 NFL season.
The Texans, 4-12 from a year ago, start off their 20th season in franchise history against an AFC South foe, who finished 1-15 in 2020.
Two of the Texans’ four wins from last year were against the Jaguars. They were the first win of the interim coach Romeo Crennel era, and now stand to be the first team defeated to commence the David Culley era in Houston.
The Week 1 encounter at NRG Stadium will be the second time in series history that the Texans and Jaguars will face each other on opening weekend. The game will also be the first time since 2017 that Houston will open up the season at home. The opponent that game happened to be the Jaguars.
The home opener will also be the 13th time in team history the Texans have kicked off the season at NRG Stadium.
