What a finish to the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies’ Sunday night game (if you’re a fan of either team, it was either really great or really awful).
Let’s set up the situation: the Mets took a lead in the eighth inning with six runs to make it 8-4 heading into the ninth. Closer Edwin Diaz came in to finish the job … but then Roman Quinn knocked in a run to make it 8-5.
Up stepped Rhys Hoskins. The slugger took a pitch and hit what appeared to be a game-tying home run. Very exciting stuff!
… Except the replays showed the ball hit the railing at Citizens Bank Park, which meant it was a double instead, and one batter later, the game was over.
When Hoskins saw the overturned call, this was his NSFW reaction:

Umpires originally ruled that this was a home run for Rhys Hoskins, which would've tied the game.

Of course, Jomboy had a full breakdown of what happened that’s also NSFW:

I’d be pretty angry too … but that ball did hit the railing.
