John Wolford and Van Jefferson have grown close over the last year, often training together during the offseason. They’ve been on the field a few times this spring with Wolford throwing Jefferson passes as both attempt to improve before the 2021 season.

In a recent interview, Jefferson said Wolford “works his tail off” and says he “makes everyone around him better.”

“What I love about John is that he works his tail off. No matter the circumstances, he will just put his head down and work. John is one of the guys I became really cool with when I first arrived. He is a team player and makes everyone better around him,” he said.

Over the weekend, Wolford posted a video of himself throwing with Jefferson and CFL wide receiver Fabian Guerra Jr. Wolford shows off his ability to throw on the run, dropping perfect passes to both receivers down the field.

Wolford will remain the backup quarterback in Los Angeles with Matthew Stafford taking over, but Jefferson should be in for a bigger role after the Rams let Josh Reynolds leave in free agency.
