Cardinals met with long Virginia pass rusher

Snowden is a Day 3 OLB prospect who is 6-6 but is coming off ankle surgery.

Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has said that he feels the edge defender class is pretty deep in this year’s draft. They have scouted a few, including one who could be a consideration on Day 3 of the draft this week.

According to Justin Melo, the Cardinals are one of several teams to have met virtually with Virginia edge defender Charles Snowden.

Snowden is a former basketball player and has good length to play outside linebacker in the Cardinals’ defensive system.

He is 6-6 and 243 pounds. He moves well.

He suffered a fractured ankle in November and is recovering from that.

In four seasons, he had 15 sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss. he had two interceptions and eight pass breakups in 2018.

He was a team captain and also blocked a kick and a punt in his college career.

He appears to be an athletic cover outside linebacker with limited pass rushing capabilities. He should also be able to be solid on special teams.
