Yeah, it’s only April, within the same month in which Baylor was crowned NCAA Tournament champ. To look ahead into March of 2022 seems a bit premature, especially with all the NBA decisions and transfer market still heating up with college basketball teams.
But that didn’t matter much to ESPN’ resident Bracketologist Joe Lunardi. He has already come out with his first NCAA Tournament projections for next year, and there’s a familiar ring to it if you are an Ohio State fan.
The Buckeyes received a No. 2 seed in the 2021 madness, losing to No. 15 seed Oral Roberts in a very disappointing end to a promising season. I guess it was so nice Lunardi thinks OSU will do it twice and have a similar season, as do a lot of other experts. Many have the Buckeyes inside the top five to ten teams in the country as they peer through the crystal ball.
In fact, Lundardi has Ohio State as a No. 2 seed once again, this time facing No. 15 seed Coastal Carolina in the West bracket. The No. 1 seeds according to Joey Brackets will be Gonzaga, Kansas, UCLA, and Alabama. The other No. 2 seeds are Michigan, Purdue, and Villanova.
