Shortly after spring practice concluded on Tuesday, Texas wide receiver Jordan Whittington spoke with the media.
According to first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and numerous other players who have spoken with the media this spring, Whittington’s name is mentioned as one of the few consistent standouts throughout practices.
Many already assumed that Whittington would be primed for a larger role this offseason with Jake Smith sidelined due to a broken foot, but unlike former head coach Tom Herman, Sarkisian will play his best players regardless of their position. Therefore, when Smith returns, don’t be surprised to see them on the field at the same time.
Texas will hold their annual Orange-White game on Saturday, April 24. It will be the first time that fans will be able to witness how Sarkisian’s coaching staff operates and how certain players will be used.
On Tuesday, Whittington touched on Sarkisian’s coaching style, which players have stood out the most throughout practice, his goals for this season and his unfortunate injury history.
