A Badger walk-on earns a scholarship

Part of a crowded 2020 class, Wisconsin walk-on Carter Gilmore decided to turn down scholarship offers from smaller schools and bet on himself. That bet started to pay off yesterday when Gilmore was awarded a scholarship.

The former Arrowhead star grew up a Wisconsin native and a Badger fan, and put in the work as a freshman to earn his place. At Arrowhead, the rising Badger sophomore averaged 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in his senior season.

After turning down a number of scholarships from the likes of DePaul, Southern Illinois, and UW-Milwaukee, Gilmore will be on scholarship beginning in his sophomore season.
