Bills cornerback Dane Jackson has a big offseason ahead of him.
Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane has said multiple times this offseason that he’ll get a shot to start at the No. 2 cornerback spot. Whether or not that’s a draft smokescreen shouldn’t matter to Jackson. He has to capitalize on the opportunity.
Jackson, a seventh-round rookie in 2020, won’t just cruise into any starting spot. The Bills could certainly draft a rookie cornerback to battle for playing time, but regardless, Levi Wallace will factor in as well He’s a guy who was a undrafted rookie himself who earned everything he’s got so far.
If Jackson is going to land that job he has to work for it and a good first step for him might be to workout with one of the best defenders in the NFL. Sure they play different positions, but Aaron Donald is a force.
Jackson and Donald were recently getting after it together this offseason:

If you’re wondering how Jackson is getting in contact with one of the NFL’s elite players for a workout, there’s no reason to overthink it. Jackson and Donald both went to the University of Pittsburgh. The two were not teammates there as Donald was drafted in 2014 and Jackson started at Pitt in 2015, but players with the same alma mater keeping in contact still makes sense.
