The Boston Celtics are reportedly still in the running to land Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon according to new reporting, but may need to add some shine to their current offer to retain pole position for the Magic star.
Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer relates that while the Celtics “remain engaged in Aaron Gordon talks,” the Denver Nuggets have “now emerged as the leading candidate to acquire Gordon from Orlando, with a package centered around Gary Harris.” With reporting today that Boston had been offering a first-round pick and a young player (Brian Robb of MassLive reports it would be either Romeo Langford or Aaron Nesmith), it seems there must be multiple first-round picks given the Michigan State product is having the worst season of his career since his rookie campaign.
It is also possible this is information being leaked to push Boston to get the deal across the finish line.

Whatever the case, teams have until 3 p.m. tomorrow, March 25 to get a deal of any sort called in, with reporting to come within an hour or two beyond that.
