It’s clear the Boston Celtics are interested in adding Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon to the team ahead of the 2021 NBA trade deadline, but how good of a fit is the Orlando swing?
Gordon’s camp wants a trade before the deadline passes, enticing suitors like the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and of course the Celtics, with Gordon intent on playing for a contender. Jared Weiss announced Gordon’s long-held intention of escaping Orlando on a recent episode of the CLNS podcast “Celtics Beat,” calling Gordon a perfect fit for the Celtics, who posses a $28.5 million traded player exception (TPE).
Weiss also maintained the possibility that the Celts could also acquire John Collins from the Hawks in another related Trade deadline rumor, though it seems for now Gordon is the focus.
