The No. 7 seed Florida Gators escaped the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament on Friday with an overtime win against the Virginia Tech Hokies. Now that the dust has settled, it’s time for UF to look ahead to the next round.
Most believed that the Gators would face the No. 2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes in the second round of the tournament, but most people were wrong, as the No. 15 seed Oral Roberts Golden Eagles prevailed in OT as well over OSU, stirring up the pot that is March Madness with a huge upset.
So now it is Florida’s turn to play Goliath against this small private evangelical school with Cinderella aspirations. Not unexpectedly, things are looking in favor of the Gators the day before the big matchup, including in the eyes of the oddsmakers.
BetMGM has the Gators an 8-point favorite over the Golden Eagles while the over/under is set at 148.5 points on Saturday prior to the game.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. EDT on Sunday in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The game will be broadcast by TruTV, livestreamed on the NCAA March Madness Live app and can be heard on the Gators Sports Network.
