It was a tough afternoon on the diamond for Tennessee Sunday.
No. 22 Tennessee surrendered three first-inning runs with two outs en rout to dropping an 11-3 Southeastern Conference contest to No. 12 LSU at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
Tennessee (18-3, 1-2 SEC) committed three errors and were run-ruled by the Tigers (15-7, 2-1).
LSU took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Shelbi Sunseri had an RBI single and Georgia Clark clubbed a two-run home run.
The Tigers added three more runs in the third as Amanda Doyle blasted a two-run shot and Morgan Cummins had a scoring single.
In the fourth, Sunseri had a three-run home run and Doyle had an RBI single for the Tigers, who also tallied in the frame with the help of a Lady Vols’ error.
Tennessee scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Two runs came home when Kiki Milloy reached on an error, and Ivy Davis, which had a walk-off home run in UT’s win Saturday, drove in a run with a single.
