Boston College vs. Duke: Three things to know

  1. Duke beat Boston College 83-82 (Jan. 6) in the only regular-season meeting between the two. Sophomore F Wendell Moore Jr. came off the bench and matched a career-high with 25 points for the Blue Devils, who failed to cover as 11.5-point home favorites. BC led by 16 late in the first half, but were outscored 48-39 in the second and came up a point short after the game was tied 75-all with 1:43 to go. All five Eagles starters scored in double figures, led by sophomore F CJ Felder’s career-high 24 points.
  2. The Eagles enter on a 2-game skid and have lost 6 of their last 7 games. They recently dropped an 80-76 decision as 4-point underdogs at Miami Friday. For the season, sophomore G Jay Heath’s 15.1 points per game leads four Eagles in double figures.
  3. Duke suffered an ugly 91-73 loss as a 3-point dog at rival North Carolina Saturday. The Blue Devils never led as they dropped a third consecutive game and finished the regular season without a winning record for the first time since 1994-95. Sophomore F Matthew Hurt leads Duke with 18.7 PPG and 6.2 RPG.

Duke 84, Boston College 76

PASS. Duke’s -1000 price is too chalky, and Boston College’s +650 is not worth betting on for a team that has only won 4 games.

Against the spread (ATS)

Back BOSTON COLLEGE +12.5 (-105). The Eagles are 3-1 ATS when getting 10 or more points this season. The Blue Devils are 0-6 ATS when favored by 7.5 or more points – and 0-5 ATS when favored by double digits.

The line will likely climb before tip-off, so it could be worth waiting on till we get another point or two.

ATS: Boston College 8-10-1 | Duke 7-15

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 152.5 (-115) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Over is 6-0 in the Blue Devils’ last six outings and 9-1 in their last 10.

BC is on a 3-0 Over run and 6-2 O/U in its last eight games. The Eagles also have one of the worst defenses in the country, allowing 79.2 PPG.

O/U records: Boston College 13-6-1 | Duke 14-7-1
