Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian continues to bring in new names to join his coaching staff in Austin.
The news of the most recent hire began to surface on Thursday, when it was reported that Cordae Hankton will join Sarkisian’s staff as a defensive analyst.
Hankton confirmed the news via his Twitter account on Friday morning. It’s now another young presence in the regime.

Hankton played college football at Jackson State University (2006-09) as a safety before becoming a police officer, as his parents did, for his first four years after graduating.
The majority of his coaching career was at the high school level in his home state of Louisiana, winning two state championships at Archbishop Rummel High School in New Orleans. Hankton coached linebackers before becoming an offensive graduate assistant at the university of Colorado in 2019, followed by a year as a defensive graduate assistant at Michigan State.
It’s uncertain which position will be his focus as of yet, but the thought is that it will be in the secondary.
