Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving threw his support behind an idea some NBA fans and others have had: to re-do the league’s logo and use a silhouette of Kobe Bryant.
“Gotta happen, idc what anyone says,” Irving wrote on Instagram in the caption of a re-designed NBA logo with Bryant featured.
“BLACK KINGS BUILT THE LEAGUE,” he added.
The current logo features Jerry West, although the Hall of Famer is totally fine with the league changing it as he told ESPN’s The Jump in 2017.
Vanessa Bryant actually commented on Irving’s idea on her Instagram story: “Love this @kyrieirving,” she wrote:

Some fans were already thinking up other Kobe logos:
I’m 1000% for the Kobe NBA logo but it’s GOTTA be the fadeaway pic.twitter.com/envtRobarT
