After some back-and-forth banter with [autotag]Darren Till[/autotag], it appeared that [autotag]Mike Perry[/autotag] could try to make that fight happen – until he changed his mind.
Perry (14-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC), who has competed at 170 pounds for the majority of his professional career, expressed an interest in moving up to 185 pounds and had his sights set on three UFC middleweights.
“Platinum” mentioned former title challenger and longtime rival Till, as well as MMA Junkie’s 2020 “Fighter of the Year” [autotag]Kevin Holland[/autotag] and viral knockout sensation [autotag]Joaquin Buckley[/autotag].

It didn’t take long for Perry to get a response, with none other than “Big Mouth” immediately accepting his offer and stating his readiness to throw down as soon as Saturday.

That was on Monday. By Tuesday morning, Perry apparently had a change of heart.
I was just feeling fat and hungry last night and I know that cutting weight to 170 isn’t going to be easy

In his most recent outing at UFC 255 in November, Perry missed weight by 4.5 pounds before a unanimous decision loss to Tim Means. It was the first time in his career that Perry failed to hit his contracted weight.
